學員Phoebe：進入職場已有十多年，每年只有十五天的休假，我總是戰戰兢兢地利用，因為假期永遠不夠用啊。某天，突然間出現了一段長達三個十五天的假期，這一切來得太突然，我驚訝不已。在我陷入困惑時，一位善良的人提醒我：「你可以趁這個機會去做些你一直想做的事情。」 我想：「我到底想做什麼呢？」 然後，我想起了埋藏在我心底深處的一個夢想——「出國遊學」 。於是，我想，為什麼不趁著這個機會去實現這個夢想呢？
在找到合適的遊學機構之前，我詢問了兩家代辦機構。其中一家已讀不回，另一家也無動於衷。在灰心之餘，我幸運地遇到了「北極星」 。他們的回覆非常迅速，態度非常熱情，專業水準也非常高，而且他們真正關心學生的需求。他們對紐西蘭非常了解，對我提出的所有問題都有耐心的回答。
有人說，在迷路時一定要仰望天空尋找北極星，因為它會指引你回家的路。對於遊學生面臨的選擇困難和迷惘，找到「北極星」 代表你能得到專業的指導和評估。

為何選擇紐西蘭遊學？
當選擇遊學地點時，大多數人通常首選美國、加拿大或英國，但我想找一個華人比例較低、英語環境較純粹的地方，這樣我可以更專心地學習英語。雖然我從未親身造訪紐西蘭，但以前曾聽過來自紐西蘭的英語老師，他們介紹了那裡的文化景觀、翠綠山川，以及充滿可愛羊群和牛隻的景象。因此，紐西蘭一直在我的旅遊心願名單上。此外，紐西蘭北島在冬季相對較少降雪，這也成為我遊學國家的首選。我期待著在這片美麗的土地上學習，探索新文化，並體驗紐西蘭獨特的魅力。這將是一段難忘的遊學之旅。
When choosing a study tour location, most people usually first choose the United States, Canada or the United Kingdom, but I wanted to find a place with a lower proportion of Chinese and a pure English environment, so that I could focus more on learning English. Although I have never visited New Zealand in person, I have heard English teachers from New Zealand describe its cultural landscape, green mountains and rivers, as well as scenes full of cute sheep and cattle. Therefore, New Zealand has always been on my travel wish list. In addition, the North Island of New Zealand has relatively little snowfall in winter, which has also become my first choice for studying abroad. I look forward to studying in this beautiful land, exploring new cultures, and experiencing the unique charm of New Zealand. This will be an unforgettable study tour.

為何選擇Rotorua English Language Academy (RELA)
我的個人需求非常明確：我希望能夠避免與同鄉學生接觸，實現全英文生活，並選擇一個與繁華都市截然不同的地方，一個擁有廣袤草皮、充滿當地文化的地方。幸運的是，北極星很快為我找到了一所其他代辦中心未提及的學校－”RELA”。RELA沒有台灣學生，這為我提供了一個極佳的英語學習機會。羅托魯瓦（Rotorua）擁有獨特的地熱景觀和豐富的毛利文化，對於熱愛大自然和想深入了解當地歷史文化的朋友來說，這絕對是一個不容錯過的地方。
RELA的課程包括聽、說、讀、寫，課堂上約有10名學生，每天都會有多樣化的練習機會，在老師的引導下不斷進步。此外，每六週會進行測驗，用以評估學生的學習成果，同時學校也會根據結果調整課程安排，這顯示了學校的用心和關懷。我對於在這樣的環境中學習感到非常期待。
My personal needs are very clear: I hope to avoid contact with students from my hometown, live in English, and choose a place that is completely different from the bustling city, a place with vast turf and full of local culture. Fortunately, Polaris quickly found a school for me that was not mentioned by other agency centers – “RELA”. There are no Taiwanese students in RELA, which provides me with an excellent opportunity to learn English. Rotorua has a unique geothermal landscape and rich Maori culture. For those who love nature and want to have a deeper understanding of local history and culture, this is definitely a place not to be missed.
RELA’s courses include listening, speaking, reading and writing. There are about 10 students in the class. They have diverse practice opportunities every day and continue to improve under the guidance of the teacher. In addition, tests will be conducted every six weeks to evaluate students’ learning outcomes, and the school will also adjust course schedules based on the results, which shows the school’s sincerity and care. I am very much looking forward to studying in such an environment.

紐西蘭住宿家庭
我在住宿家庭找到了一個非常溫馨的小家，家庭成員包括一對夫妻、兩個可愛的小男孩，還有一隻狗狗，每個人都非常友善和熱情。特別是家裡的HOME爸，他廚藝高超，經常為我們烹飪美味的飯菜。而HOME媽則常常關心我，總是問我是否需要幫助。一開始，我對於自己的英語表達能力感到有些尷尬，但幸運的是，家人們都非常耐心地聆聽我，並且願意教我，無論是在語言還是文化方面。
假日時，我們經常一起參加小朋友的足球比賽，或是開車探索附近的觀光景點。我真的很幸運能夠遇到這麼一個溫馨而友善的家庭，因此在國外我並不感到孤單，我感到非常幸福和溫暖。
I found a very warm little home in the host family. The family members include a couple, two cute little boys, and a dog. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Especially our home dad, he is a superb cook and often cooks delicious meals for us. And HOME mom always cares about me and always asks me if I need help. At first, I felt a little embarrassed about my English speaking skills, but luckily my family listened to me very patiently and were willing to teach me, both in terms of language and culture. During holidays, we often attend children’s football games together or drive to explore nearby tourist attractions. I’m really lucky to meet such a warm and friendly family, so I don’t feel lonely abroad, I feel very happy and warm.
創辦人傅老師帶著20幾年在補教業的教育理念在2006年創辦北極星遊留學，因為有所預知大學的升學率屢創新高，將不再有重考班的市場，因緣際會下受到補教同事的邀請加入了留學行列。 傅老師與家人有著移民紐西蘭的背景和經驗，北極星創辦初期深耕紐西蘭市場，隨著舊生們逐漸長大，想帶著如同自己孩子們的學生去看不同的世界、體驗不同的文化，因此陸續延伸了澳洲、加拿大、美國、英國、馬爾他、菲律賓等多個英語系國家的遊留學服務。
